With the growth of Arlington’s Entertainment District, the City
faces new challenges regarding traffic management and public safety.
The City of Arlington wants to continue to ensure our residents,
businesses, and visitors have the best possible experience when
visiting our Entertainment District.

Looking for information on how business owners and operators can
obtain Special Event Parking Permits?
DO NOT RESTRIPE YOUR PARKING LOT WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING WITH CITY
STAFF. The Entertainment District Zoning Overlay prohibits
"overparking" - adding more parking spaces than is necessary for the
use at the property - without administrative approval. Restriping a
lot without completing a zoning site plan review process will be
considered a zoning violation and is subject to fines.
To achieve this goal, the Arlington City Council recently approved an
ordinance regulating Special Event Parking. To charge for parking
during special events, a permit is now required. Please click on the
links below for more information, fees, and an application.
You are REQUIRED to have a valid Texas Sales Tax Permit in order to
obtain a Special Event Parking Permit. To apply for a permit, visit
www.window.state.tx.us/taxpermit . PLEASE ALLOW 2-3 WEEKS TO
RECEIVE YOUR SALES TAX PERMIT.
